Trying to figure out how a government or foundation awards grants and contracts is like trying to determine how a philosophy professor grades an essay. With grant and
contract experience at both the US Environmental Protection Agency and the CA Department of Conservation, we’ve seen inside the magic black box. In many cases, we even built the box.
Every year, government agencies leave grant and contract dollars unexpended due to an insufficient quantity of quality proposals. Let us navigate you down these pathways to capital.
It’s not rocket science. It’s not even calculus. It’s just another pathway waiting to be traveled. And, we’ve got the map.
Capital Pathways LLC has secured over $8 million in grants for its clients since 2006.
In 2005, Capital Pathways was retained to manage the California Association of Local Conservation Corps (www.calcc.org).
Local Conservation Corps provide "green collar" job training for at-risk young adults, ages 18-25. Most of the corpsmembers are between the ages of 18-25 and have dropped out of high scool. Many are single parents, have been previously incarcerated, and have never opened a bank account.
These state-certified non-profit programs also provide high school education through accredited charter high schools and life skills development by trained social workers and case managers.
Why is it that every organization, every business, every residence knows how to throw out their trash but not how to recycle? Why is it that every business has a trash can and a budget for garbage disposal but not for recycling scarce natural resources like glass, aluminum, paper and plastic?
From our perspective, it’s quite simple. If you can make your trash magically disappear, we can do the same for your recyclables. Depending on your motivation, your desired involvement, and your goals, we can develop a recycling program that meets your needs.
